Retreats at St. Joseph’s Abbey

The Abbey Retreat House will be closed until further notice. In order to protect the health of our retreatants and as well as our monks, all retreats are cancelled until the pandemic has subsided.

Contacting or Visiting the Abbey

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Abbey Church and Retreat House remain closed until further notice.

Those who love the beauty of our setting or miss praying in church may walk in the areas in front of the church entrance but should not enter the areas of the enclosure.

Our Day

An ordinary day in the life of a monk.

Our History

At the crest of a steeply sloping hill blanketed in oak, maple and pine, but bared in part by farmed meadows and broad pasturelands, rests Saint Joseph’s Abbey.

Becoming a Monk

It takes time, prayer and patience but once I get in touch with this deep down place of my desire, everything will be changed, transformed. I will want to follow and pursue what I love with my whole heart, with all my strength.
